Celebrating a year of innovation and growth

Our latest Impact Report shows a transformative year of strategic renewal, community empowerment, and expanded support services. With over 43,000 individuals impacted, the report highlights our commitment to peer-led support and community development across the UK. Key report highlights include:
- Our Deaf Cancer Support Service reached over 1,200 people, offering culturally appropriate support in British Sign Language (BSL). A total of 81 members, including both deaf people and carers, were supported across all our DCSP work (an increase of 33% on the previous year).
- Our Macmillan Beyond Diagnosis Service supported 308 cancer patients, with 100% satisfaction and significant improvements in mental health and wellbeing.
- Our Learning Centre saw 294 enrolments in peer support courses and workshops, and launched a new website featuring a peer support group directory.
Leadership recruitment update
Recruitment for our new Managing Director is well underway and we are now preparing to welcome shortlisted candidates to interview. Our work continues without interruption, and we remain in active conversation with key funders and partners throughout this period.
Accessible cancer information and support in BSL
There was lots of positive feedback after our Deaf Cancer Support UK team’s recent presentation at Cambridgeshire Deaf Association. Many thanks to our colleague Susan for providing such an engaging and informative session.
Welcoming our new team member, Avril
Avril works in Northern Ireland as our Admin and Outreach Officer. There will be a Macmillan Coffee Morning on 24th September at ‘Hands that Talk’ where you can meet Avril in-person. Avril explains more in her video. ISL version.
