Self Help UK

Information for professionals

What can we offer you?

We can support healthcare professionals in a variety of ways.

SHUK Information line

We answer enquiries and provide information about self help groups and self-care support in Nottinghamshire to members of the public and professionals via our Information line.  We also signpost to local and national helplines.  We also work on a range of projects that may be useful to your clients. Current projects are listed on our Projects page.

Please call 0115 911 1661 Monday- Friday 9am-1pm or email: info@selfhelp.org.uk

Directory of Self Help Groups

Our Directory is managed by the Information team.  We print an edition each year, which is available upon request and is distributed, for example,  to

  • GPs and pharmacies across the county
  • Voluntary/charitable sector organisations including Citizens Advice Bureaux
  • Self help groups and community organisations
  • Partner organisations
  • Libraries across Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire county

Our new online Directory will be continually updated through the year, so will be the most up-to-date version.

Group support

If a professionally run peer support group is under threat of closure because a professional has to withdraw, we can support that group to continue.  Please contact our Outreach and Development team for more information: outreach@selfhelp.org.uk
