Our Prehab Link Workers help patients access support in their local communities, ensuring a holistic and personalised Prehab Programme is provided.
Patients due to undergo certain cancer surgeries in Nottinghamshire are referred to our service by their cancer nurse specialist.
Prehab Link Worker, Rose, has been with the service since it began. Rose says:
“I enjoy the difference we make, and the huge positive impact we have. It’s a complete privilege to be part of our clients lives and often to be invited into their homes to offer them support at such difficult times in their lives.
My clients inspire me every single day. I see a change in both physical and mental well-being and our support has also proven to be the difference between having surgery and not. As a team we all go that extra mile and do whatever it takes to give the best holistic support our clients need and deserve. We’re all here for the same reason, the support from the team no knows bounds, we’re a family.
The work I do turned out to be my calling, the puzzle piece I was missing in my life for years, I just didn’t realise it until I started doing it. It’s not a job, it’s a labour of love, without the labour!”
