Focussed on what matters to you

Social Prescribing Day on 19th March is an annual celebration of social prescribing, recognising Social Prescribing Link Workers, local community groups and regional and national organisations which support people’s health and wellbeing.

At Self Help UK, we recognise that your wellbeing is influenced by many factors, not just your medical condition. We focus on ‘what matters to you’, connecting you with community-based activities and support that can make a real difference. Our Beyond Diagnosis service works on the principles of social prescribing, designed to offer holistic support, going beyond medical treatment to address your wider needs.

Why Social Prescribing matters
Social prescribing recognises that health is about more than just medicine. It’s about feeling connected, supported, and empowered to live your life to the fullest. By connecting you with the right community resources, we can help you take control of your wellbeing and find renewed purpose.

At Self Help UK, our Beyond Diagnosis service is committed to providing person-centred care that addresses the wider determinants of health. We’re here to support you on your journey, every step of the way. Learn more about how Beyond Diagnosis can help you.

Embracing the spirit of giving and reflection this Ramadan

As the month of Ramadan begins, Self Help UK acknowledges this special time of reflection, community, and generosity observed by many across the UK. It is a time that inspires compassion, unity, and the spirit of giving – values that resonate with us all. We are delighted to be hosting an Iftar for our colleagues to promote the coexistence and diversity of workplace communities.

At Self Help UK we believe in the power of collective kindness. Whether through charitable giving, acts of service, or supporting those in need, we are reminded that small gestures can create meaningful change.

How you can make a difference this Ramadan

  • Support a cause – find out more about how your donation can make a difference.
  • Engage in acts of kindness – A small gesture can uplift someone’s day.
  • Join our mission – Get involved in initiatives that promote positive change.

May this season of reflection and generosity inspire us all to work toward a more compassionate and inclusive world. Wishing peace, joy, and fulfilment to all who observe Ramadan and to everyone celebrating the values of giving and gratitude.
