Connect, share, support: new online group for cancer carers starts this October

Caring for a loved one with cancer can be a profound and emotional journey. While it brings moments of connection and compassion, it can also be isolating and overwhelming. That’s why Self Help UK, in partnership with Macmillan and Carer’s Federation, is proud to announce the launch of the Nottinghamshire Cancer Carers Online Support Group – a new peer support initiative designed to bring carers together in a safe, understanding, and supportive space.

This free online group is open to anyone in Nottinghamshire who is caring for a family member, friend, or neighbour affected by cancer. Whether you’re new to caregiving or have been supporting someone for years, this group offers a chance to connect with others who truly understand the challenges and rewards of the role.

The group offers:
  • A welcoming space to share experiences and emotions.
  • Practical advice and tips from fellow carers.
  • Emotional support and encouragement from a compassionate community.
Group details:
  • Location: Online via Zoom (link provided upon registration).
  • Time: Every second Wednesday of the month at 6pm
  • First Session: Wednesday, 8 October 2025 at 6pm
To join, please contact Ourania:

Ourania, the group facilitator, shares:

“This group is about building a community of understanding and strength. No one should feel alone in their caregiving journey.”

Join us and discover the power of peer support.
