As part of our increasing role in supporting people with cancer across Nottinghamshire, we have recently recruited 3 new staff.

Self Help UK team

We’re delighted to welcome Dawn, Ella and Karen to the team. Here’s a few words from each of them about their experience and what they’re looking forward to about their roles:

“Hi, my background working experience has come from both a medical and an education viewpoint.  Firstly, as a palliative care nurse and secondly working with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities students and their families at a secondary school.  I am really looking forward to becoming part of the fantastic team of staff and volunteers at Self Help UK, you do such amazing work within our communities!”.

Dawn – PCN Cancer Care Coordinator

‘’I recently graduating from university and a previous experience of volunteering. I am so excited to start meeting and working with clients from the local community. I’m loving getting to know the team, who have all been so kind, welcoming, and helpful and I’m overjoyed to join an ever-growing organisation, going from strength to strength with a great reputation.’’

Ella – PCN Cancer Care Coordinator

“I have always enjoyed working with people. My most rewarding roles have been working in care looking after people with dementia and helping to re-able people returning home after long hospital visits. I love being out in the community and helping which is what drew me towards working at Self Help UK. When I saw the position for a Cancer Support Coordinator I knew this was the role for me and I’m looking forward to getting going.”

Karen – Cancer Support Coordinator

It is likely that we will be recruiting further over the coming months so if you want to be part of this exciting and rewarding project, get in touch for an informal chat about the work or visit our recruitment page for currently advertised jobs.
