We’re thrilled to share some exciting news for cancer carers in Newark and the surrounding areas!

A vital new resource is launching for cancer carers in Newark and the surrounding areas. Starting on Tuesday 5th August, a new monthly Cancer Carers’ Support Group will offer a dedicated space for individuals supporting loved ones with cancer to connect, share, and find community.

The support group aims to provide a welcoming and safe environment where carers can openly discuss their experiences, gain insights from others facing similar challenges, and receive unconditional support. The initiative is a collaborative effort, proudly brought to the community by Self Help UK in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and Carers Federation.

“Caring for someone with cancer can be an incredibly demanding and often isolating experience,” says Dawn Mallon, a representative for the group. “Our goal with this new support group is to create a much-needed haven where carers can feel understood, share their burdens, and build a strong network of support.”

Attendees can expect a flexible and inclusive atmosphere, with no pressure or fixed agenda – simply a supportive environment for shared wisdom and understanding.
