The Toolkit Project

The Toolkit Project

The Department of Health has funded Self Help Nottingham to create a guide - ‘The Toolkit’ - which will help other areas to achieve a well known and supported self help groups sector, like we have in Nottinghamshire.

To create the guide we are combining the considerable knowledge of the team in Nottingham with the experience of creating a known and supported self help group sector in five pilot areas.  The pilot areas are Dudley, Shropshire, Stoke, Telford and Worcestershire.

In each pilot area the Toolkit Project is:

  • Creating robust, high quality and sustained information about self help groups.
  • Enabling groups to access support which will help the development of new and established groups.
  • Promoting the value of engagement with voluntary and community sector organisations in delivering effective support to self help groups.

For more details about the Toolkit Project see the Toolkit Project Leaflet (409Kb).  This file is in PDF format and you need Adobe Reader software to be able to view it.  Please click here to download a free version.

You can also contact the Toolkit Project Manager, David Potter, on 0115 911 1679, Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm or e-mail david.potter@selfhelp.org.uk
