Directions from the North
From Junction 26 of the M1 to Fletcher Gate Car Park in the
City Centre.
Exit the motorway at junction 26 and turn left on to the A610 following the signs for Nottingham. Continue along this road for 3.7 miles. After the dual carriageway you enter a 30 speed zone with speed cameras.
At Canning Circus continue straight on into the one way system. This takes you down hill with a swing to the right at the bottom. You are now at a road traffic island – the Holiday Inn is directly opposite.
Take the second exit and proceed into Maid Marian Way. After several traffic lights the road continues down hill; the Travelodge followed by two pubs, the Salutation and the Royal Children and St Nicholas’s Church are on your left. Keep left.
At the bottom of the hill continue in the left hand lane as the road sweeps to the left and after another set of traffic lights you are in Collins Street; the back of Broad Marsh Shopping Centre is on the left and a multi-storey car park is on the right. (See photo - Collins Street) Proceed along this straight stretch and as the road swings to the right with the majority of the traffic turning right, turn left and proceed up hill along Fletcher Gate. (See photo - Fletcher Gate car park 1) Look out for trams coming in both directions. After a short distance Fletcher Gate Car Park is on the right. Turn right into the small street before the car park to access the main entrance. (See photos - Fletcher Gate car park 2 and Fletcher Gate)
On foot: exit onto Fletcher Gate continuing along in the same direction as travelling in the car. At the junction of Victoria Street, Fletcher Gate and Carlton Street cross Victoria Street continuing in the same direction. (See photo - The Cape) Pelham Street runs parallel to Victoria Street, with Mann Ho Chinese restaurant in front of you and walking past the Cape pub you should now be at the top of Pelham Street. Turn left and proceed down Pelham Street. (See photo - Pelham Street)
Ormiston House is located half way down the hill, opposite Ladbrokes and in between the Pit and Pendulum pub and a clothes shop. (See photo - Ormiston House) Enter the first set of glass doors and push B on the intercom to alert attention in the office on the second floor.
